We have adopted a policy to protect our kids which requires every person who works in any ministry to be "child certified." After three months regularly attending Rock of Grace, a person is welcome to attend membership classes, which incorporates child certification. The certification process includes a class on treatment of children and recognizing abuse, a background check and requires each participant to supply references to complete the training. Only those who have successfully completed the child certification are permitted to work with children. |

Nursery Policies:
General:
- Our nursery is for children 6 weeks of age to 3 years. It is available 10 minutes before service, and we ask that you pick up your child within 10 minutes of the conclusion of service (or at 12:30 on Sundays is service runs extra long).
- Our nursery is scent free, meaning perfumes are not to be worn by nursery workers, which means children sensitive to scents will not reaction while being cared for.
Cleanliness:
- All toys are cleaned weekly, larger items are wiped down after each service. Bedding is changed after each use, and caprets are vaccumed weekly and shampooed often.
Safety:
- We require each child to be "checked in" and "checked out" of our nursery to ensure that children are released only to approved adults. At check in, parents are given a slip of paper with a number that will be displayed in the service if parents are needed for any reason in the nursery. For check out, a list of approved adults along with their picture (taken at the registration desk) is stored on the computer so workers can match the face of the person checking children out with the approved list.
- It is our policy that even though men sometimes volunteer in the nursery with their wives, they are not permitted to change diapers.
- We also have a plan in place in the event of an emergency. If a fire or other emergency situation occurs that requires the evacuation of the building, all children will be escorted out of the nursery by the nursery workers. We ask that you do not go back the nursery, but pick up your child outside. This will minimize confusion and will allow the children to get out of danger quickly.
X-Plorers & X-Treme Kids Policies:
General:
- X-plorers is ages 3 through kindergarten, and X-treme Kids is for 1st through 6th grades. Both are available every Sunday (excluding Family Services) for the 8:30 and the 10:30 services.
- All children are advanced from X-plorers to X-treme Kids or from X-treme Kids to adult service the first Sunday in September of each year. This eliminates confusion and children advance as we kick off of the new school year.
Safety:
- We require that each student be picked up by a parent/guardian at the conclusion of each service. No child will be released to anyone under 13 years of age or without a parent or guardian going to the respective classrooms to receive their children. For the safety of our children, no exceptions will be made to this rule. If no one comes to get a child, he/she may be escorted to a parent/guardian by an approved childcare worker.
